Privacy Policy

How Casino Days collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit the website or hold a casino account, in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and federal privacy law.

Last updated: November 5, 2026Applies to: Alberta, Canada

01Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Casino Days (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information about people who visit this website and people who open a casino account. Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual — for example your name, date of birth, contact details, payment details, location or the record of the games you play.

Our online casino and live casino are intended only for adults aged 18 or older who are physically located in Alberta. Online gambling in Alberta is regulated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC), so we have to collect certain information to confirm who you are, where you are when you play and that you are eligible, and to keep the records regulators and anti-money laundering law require. This policy describes what we collect for those purposes and for running the website day to day.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies — for example, when information crosses provincial or national borders — the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and the requirements of AGLC.

By using the website or opening an account, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described here. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it at the point of collection, and you can withdraw it as explained in User Rights.

02Data Controller

The organization responsible for personal information collected through this website is the operator of Casino Days. The operator’s legal name, registration number and registered address are being confirmed and are shown as “To Be Verified” until confirmation is complete; we do not publish details that have not been confirmed.

Under PIPA, every organization must designate someone who is accountable for its compliance with the Act. Our privacy team fills that role and can be reached at privacy@casinodaysco.slonik.store. Questions about this policy, requests to see or correct your information and privacy complaints all go to that address, and we respond within the timeframes PIPA sets.

03Personal Information Collected

We collect only what we need for the purposes set out in this policy. Depending on how you use the website, that may include:

  • Identity and contact information — first and last name, date of birth, mobile phone number, email address, residential address and, when verification requires it, details from government-issued identification.
  • Account information — your password (stored only in hashed form), favourite games, communication choices and the responsible gambling limits you set.
  • Financial information — the payment method used, deposit and withdrawal history in CAD, and information needed to meet anti-money laundering obligations, such as the source of funds when we are required to ask.
  • Gaming activity — slot and table game rounds, live casino sessions, stakes, results, balances and promotion participation.
  • Geolocation data — information used to confirm that you are physically in Alberta when you try to play for real money. This is described in detail in Geolocation Data.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language settings and server log data.
  • Communications — messages you send to support by email or the contact form, and our replies.

Most of this information comes directly from you. Some comes from service providers that help us verify identity, process payments or confirm location, as described in Third-Party Services. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we close the account and delete the information unless the law requires us to keep it.

04Account Registration

To open an account, we ask for your first and last name, date of birth, mobile phone number, email address and a password, and for your confirmation that you accept our Terms and Conditions. We use this information to create and secure your account, to check that you meet the age requirement, to contact you about your account and to stop one person from holding more than one account.

Your password is stored only as a one-way hash, so our staff cannot read it. If you ask for a password reset, we send a single-use link to your registered email address that expires after a short period. Please keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

These fields are mandatory because regulated gambling requires them. If you prefer not to provide them, we cannot open an account for you, but you can still browse the public pages of the website without registering.

05Identity Verification

Before you can play for real money or withdraw winnings, we must confirm your identity and age. This is a requirement of AGLC and of federal anti-money laundering law, and it is often called “Know Your Customer” or KYC.

To verify you, we may compare the details you give us with reliable independent sources through a specialised verification provider. We may also ask you to upload documents such as a government-issued photo ID, proof of address (for example a recent utility bill or bank statement) or proof that a payment method is yours. In some cases we may ask for a photo of you holding your ID so we can confirm the document belongs to you.

Verification information is used to confirm eligibility, to prevent fraud, identity theft and underage gambling, to screen against sanctions lists and to meet our record-keeping duties. We never use your identification documents for marketing.

06Financial Information

When you deposit or withdraw through Interac, Visa, Mastercard or Paysafecard, we and our payment processors collect what is needed to complete the transaction: the payment method, partial card or account details, the amount, the date and time, and the outcome. Full card numbers are handled by payment processors that meet the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS); we do not store them on our own systems.

We keep a record of every transaction on your account. These records are used to run the cashier, answer payment questions, meet accounting and tax obligations and comply with the PCMLTFA. Where the law requires it, we report certain transactions to the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), and we may ask where your funds come from before processing a payment.

07Gaming Activity

For every casino game — slots, jackpot games, table games, crash and instant games — we and the game studios record your sessions: which game you played, when the session started and ended, the stake and result of each round, and your balance before and after. For live casino, the studio also records the table, the rounds you joined and any chat messages you send to the dealer, which are moderated for conduct.

We use game-play records to show you your own history, to investigate a disputed round or a game malfunction, to meet AGLC audit and reporting requirements, to apply promotion terms correctly, and to detect cheating, bonus abuse and patterns of play that may point to gambling-related harm. When we see signs of risky play — for example sessions getting much longer, deposits becoming more frequent or repeated attempts to chase losses — we may contact you with support information or apply restrictions, as described on our Responsible Gambling page.

We also record the responsible gambling tools you use — deposit, loss and session limits, reality-check reminders, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion — with the dates they were set or changed. We treat this information as sensitive and restrict who can see it.

08Geolocation Data

Regulated online casino games in Alberta may only be offered to people who are physically inside the province at the time they play. Living in Alberta is not enough on its own: if you travel to another province or abroad, real-money play is not available until you are back. To meet this rule, we have to check where you are. Because location is sensitive information, this section explains the process in full.

What we collect

Depending on your device and the permissions you grant, a location check may use:

  • Your IP address and the network it belongs to;
  • Wi-Fi information — identifiers and signal strength of nearby Wi-Fi networks, used to estimate position without GPS;
  • Mobile network information — the carrier and cell towers your phone is connected to;
  • Device location services (GPS or the operating system’s location service), only if you allow the browser or app to share your location;
  • Technical signals that show whether location is being disguised — for example a VPN, proxy, remote-desktop tool, location-spoofing app or emulator.

The result of each check is recorded: whether you passed or failed, an approximate location (generally to the level of the province and the nearest area, not your exact address), the date and time, and the reason for any failure.

When we check

  • When you try to open a real-money game, join a live casino table or make a deposit;
  • periodically during a real-money session, because you could move while playing — for example while travelling near the provincial border;
  • when your IP address or network changes during a session.

Browsing the public pages of the website, reading game information and contacting support do not require a location check.

Who carries out the check

Location checks are performed by a specialised third-party geolocation compliance provider of the kind used across regulated Canadian online gambling. The provider receives the signals listed above, returns a pass or fail result to us and keeps the technical data it needs to prove the check took place. It acts on our behalf, under contract, and may not use your location data for its own purposes. Before the provider is connected to real-money play, its name will be added to this section.

How we use it — and how we do not

We use geolocation data only to confirm that you are eligible to play at that moment, to block real-money play from outside Alberta, to detect fraud and location spoofing, and to keep the compliance records AGLC requires. We do not use geolocation data for marketing, advertising, profiling or tracking your movements, and we do not sell it or share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Location check results are kept as part of the regulated record of play for the same period as your other gaming records, described in Data Retention. Raw technical signals, such as lists of nearby Wi-Fi networks, are kept by the provider only as long as needed to complete and audit the check, and then deleted.

Your consent and what happens if you refuse

Before the first check, your browser or device will ask whether to share your location. You can say no, and you can withdraw permission later in your browser or device settings. If you refuse, or if a check fails, you can still sign in, view your account, use your responsible gambling tools, withdraw verified funds through the cashier where the rules allow, and contact support — but real-money games, live tables and deposits stay unavailable until a check succeeds. If a check fails while you are inside Alberta, turning off a VPN or proxy, enabling location services or switching to a different network usually resolves it; our technical support team can help.

09Device Information

When you visit the website, our servers automatically record technical details such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, the page that referred you, the pages you view and the time of each request. Every website records this kind of information; we need it to deliver pages to your device, keep the service secure and find faults.

For account holders, we also record sign-in history and device information to spot unusual access, protect against account takeover and identify attempts to open several accounts from the same device.

10Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the website work: to keep you signed in, to remember that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and to store your cookie choice. Optional cookies in the functional, analytics and marketing categories are only used after you allow them through the cookie banner, and at present none are set.

The full list of cookies, what each one does and how long it lasts is in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.

11Analytics

Analytics help us understand how people use the website — which pages are visited, where people get stuck, which errors occur — so that we can improve it. No third-party analytics tools are installed on this website at present, and no analytics cookies are set.

If we add an analytics tool in future, it will only run after you have allowed analytics cookies. We will configure it to collect aggregated or pseudonymous information wherever possible, list it in the Cookie Policy and update this policy before it is switched on.

12Marketing

We send marketing messages by email, text or other electronic means only if you have given express consent, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can also change your choice in your account or by contacting support.

We do not send marketing to anyone who has self-excluded or taken a break, who has asked us not to contact them, or whom we have reason to believe is under 18. Promotional content follows AGLC advertising standards, and no marketing cookies or advertising tags are used on this website at present. Service messages about your account, security, verification or changes to our terms are not marketing and are sent regardless of your marketing choice.

13Third-Party Services

Running a regulated online casino involves specialised service providers. They act on our behalf and may use your information only to provide their service to us. The categories are:

  • Identity verification (KYC) providers — check your identity, age and address and screen against sanctions and politically exposed person lists.
  • Payment processors and banks — process deposits and withdrawals and help detect payment fraud.
  • Geolocation compliance providers — confirm that you are inside Alberta before real-money play.
  • Game studios and live casino studios — supply slots, table games and live dealer streams, and record the rounds played on their systems.
  • Hosting and IT providers — host the website and its data, provide security monitoring and back-ups.
  • Customer support and email tools — help us answer your messages and send account emails.

Our contracts require these providers to protect your information with safeguards comparable to our own, to use it only for the purposes we specify and to return or destroy it when the service ends.

14Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary and permitted by law:

  • with the service providers described in Third-Party Services;
  • with Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) for licensing, oversight, audits, self-exclusion programs and complaint handling;
  • with FINTRAC and other authorities where we must report transactions or suspicious activity under the PCMLTFA;
  • with law enforcement, courts or other public bodies where the law requires it, or where disclosure is needed to investigate fraud, cheating or a breach of law;
  • with a successor organization if the business is reorganized, merged or sold, subject to equivalent privacy protections and notice to you.

Whenever we share information, we limit it to what the specific purpose requires.

15International Data Transfers

Some service providers — for example game studios, live casino studios, verification or hosting providers — may store or process information outside Alberta or outside Canada. When that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it under those laws.

PIPA requires us to tell you that we use service providers outside Canada. Before any transfer, we assess the provider and use contractual and technical safeguards so that your information receives a comparable level of protection. You can ask our privacy team for information about our policies on service providers outside Canada and about how those providers collect, use and disclose personal information on our behalf.

16Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. Gambling regulation and anti-money laundering rules require us to keep certain records — identity verification records, transaction records, records of play and location check results — for a minimum period after an account is closed. Under the PCMLTFA, many of these records must be kept for at least five years.

Self-exclusion records may be kept longer so that we can keep honouring the exclusion. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.

17User Rights

Under PIPA and, where it applies, PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Changes to your name or date of birth may need supporting documents.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent to optional uses, such as marketing, optional cookies or location sharing, at any time on reasonable notice. This may limit what we can offer (for example, real-money play needs a location check), and it does not apply to information we must keep or use by law.
  • Complain — tell us if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.

To make a request, email privacy@casinodaysco.slonik.store from the address linked to your account. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing information. We respond within 45 days, as PIPA requires, unless an extension is permitted, and we explain any information we are legally unable to provide.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can ask the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta to review it. Contact details are at oipc.ab.ca.

18Data Security

We protect personal information with administrative, technical and physical safeguards that match its sensitivity. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls that limit information to staff who need it, protection against cross-site request forgery, monitoring for unusual activity and contractual obligations on our service providers.

No system is completely secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta as PIPA requires. You can help protect your account with a strong, unique password and by never sharing your sign-in details.

19Contact Information

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or complaints, contact our privacy team:

Please include enough detail for us to find your account and understand your request. Do not send copies of identification documents by email unless we ask you to; verification documents are uploaded through your account.

20Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, our service providers or the law — for example when a geolocation or verification provider is named, or when the operator’s details are confirmed. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

If we make significant changes to how we use personal information, we will tell account holders by email or a notice in their account before the change takes effect and, where required, ask for fresh consent. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
